These lights are really quite bright - more so than the traditional bulbs I think, with crisp, clean colors. My only regret is I didn't buy more strands - for a medium size tree, I think 4 strands would be about right.

I was pleased with how sturdy the bulbs were when they repeatedly banged against my ladder. The colors are good and the lights brilliant because of the faceted plastic bulb. However, if I find brighter LED lights I'll buy them. Mine look dim and they look like I bought "energy saving" lights. The other thing I was surprised about is that you can't buy replacement bulbs. These lights do not unscrew, so the string will die slowly one bulb at a time. If you're using the string to wrap around a tree you might be able to hide the burned-out bulbs, but if you're running the lights along your roof you'll end up with blank spots.

I decided to buy new lights for our Christmas tree after seeing a news segment about how much energy LED lights save and how long they last. I was pleasantly surprised by the brilliant, true-to-life colors and the best part of these lights is that they do not get hot! They do not even get warm! I have heard good things about Bethlehem lights and was not disappointed.
