"Pretty Good Except for One Weird Thing ..." 2009-12-25
By William Robbins (Jackson, TN United States)

I purchased two of these units for use in our front windows. I think the light (both level and flickering effect) are fine. However, I did notice a weird thing ... when the lights turn on at dusk, sometimes only the middle candle lights and sometimes they don't flicker, even though the switch is set to "flicker" position. I have to reset the switch on the back of the unit (turn off, then back on) to get all three to come on with the proper effect. Since this is happening with both units and the batteries are brand new, I'm not sure what to make of it. It's a minor annoyance since it'd be nice not to have to touch them after they go into the window for the holidays. But I'm still happy with the purchase (just not five-star happy).

 "Good Tidings- yes" 2009-12-06
By L. J. Nolan (WV, USA)
I ordered 3 lights (for a test drive) for the the holiday season. They are easy to operate, load batteries and turn on switch. They operate dusk to dawn, I've had no problem with them. The light is dimmer, the flame appears to flicker having a very realistic look to them. I am reminded of burning a real candle. The apperance is that of a low fame in a white pillar candle, the glow is soft. They would also be very pretty in a floral arrangement. I wish they were just a tad brighter, not much though. Other reviews I've read kept me away from other lights, because of the brightness of the light. Not wanting something to bright I ordered these. I think it's just a preference. I will probably order more.

"Much too orange. Great for Halloween not Christmas'" 2009-12-06

I bought 10 of these lights. Much too orange in color. Not good for Christmas at all.

"Good Quality for the price" 2008-12-10

Compare these to the Plow and Hearth lights and you can save a few dollars per light. I did not realize they flickered. and at first was disappointed about that, however, the flicker is quite realistic and pleasant. The light is not overly bright, and the battery lasts about a month as stated. I just replaced the batteries and they shine much brighter. The sensor is pretty sensitive and in a darker room the lights seem to be on all day. Overall a good buy.

 "Great, subtle lights" 2007-11-16
By TheHappyHermit (Medina, NY, USA)
We originally bought similar lights by GE, but they seemed too bright, and I didn't like how they flickered. Also, the GE lights took 3 AA batteries each.

My parents bought these Good Tidings lights, so I decided to try them out also. I think they are great, and they take just 2 AA batteries each. The flicker of these candles seems more realistic than the GE brand. An earlier reviewer complained that they weren't bright enough to see from the road 100 feet away. He/She probably should try the GE brand. However, if you want something more quaint and subtle, try these Good Tidings lights. For a small house in a village, they seem perfect.
